BioControl CardioFit™ Study Abstract Published in AHA’s Scientific Session in New Orleans
Yehud, Israel, November 12, 2008 --- BioControl is pleased to announce the publishing of an abstract detailing the six month data of twenty of the thirty patients who enrolled in BioControl’s European pilot study of the CardioFit system for congestive heart failure. The abstract, titled “Abstract 2412: Chronic Vagus Nerve Stimulation in Patients with Chronic Heart Failure is Feasible and Appears Beneficial”, is published in Circulation (vol 118, issue 18 supplement), a journal of the American Heart Association.
The authors of the abstract concluded: chronic vagus nerve stimulation in patients with advanced heart failure is feasible and appears to be well tolerated and safe. Initial data suggest a favorable trend of clinical outcomes. At this point a large scale randomized controlled study is warranted.
