Ehud Cohen, PhD

Ehud Cohen, PhD - CEO

Dr. Cohen joined BioControl Medical as Chief Operating Officer in 1999 and became the company's Chief Executive Officer in 2005. Under his leadership, BioControl Medical has attracted a world-class group of senior executives, engineers and medical advisors and has developed an advanced implantable electrostimulation platform technology with potential application in numerous therapeutic areas. Cohen has successfully led BioControl Medical through three financing rounds, and he also oversaw the sale of the company's technology assets in urology and gynecology to American Medical Systems in 2006. He is currently leading the company's focused efforts to develop and commercialize implantable electrostimulation devices for the treatment of autonomic disorders, an initiative financed in part through a strategic alliance with Medtronic. Cohen previously held technical project management roles in the Israeli Department of Defense and the Israeli Navy. He received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematics and Physics as well as a Ph.D. in Physics from Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Susan Petersen-Stejskal

Susan Petersen-Stejskal - VP of Clinical Research

Susan Petersen-Stejskal has garnered more than 25 years of experience in research in the clinical setting, in the pharmaceutical industry and in implantable cardiac devices. She has led three original panel track FDA PMA submissions, with more than 20 PMAs requiring prospective clinical data, in both large and small startup companies throughout Europe, Asia and the United States.   Prior to joining BioControl, Susan worked at Medtronic where she was responsible for pre market regulatory and clinical research activities in the cardiac rhythm management business. Prior to that, she was responsible for the set up of clinical research and reimbursement at both Cardiac Concepts and Angeion.   Susan was a registered nurse in the areas of oncology (bone marrow transplant) and cardiology (heart failure) at the University of Minnesota Hospital with focus on research methodology and data collection for 6 years before she transitioned to industry-sponsored research. Susan received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1983.

Shai Ayal, PhD

Shai Ayal, PhD - CTO

Dr. Ayal has served as CTO of BioControl Medical since September 2010. Prior to his appointment as CTO, he served as Director of Development from January 2006 to September 2010 and as the Scientific Project Manager from June 2000 to January 2006. Dr. Ayal received his Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the Hebrew University in 2001.
Rami Biran, PhD

Rami Biran, PhD - VP Regulatory Affairs

Dr. Biran received a Ph.D. in Genetics from Tel Aviv University, which was followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Michigan State University in the U.S. Prior to joining BioControl Medical in 2003, Dr. Biran served in various positions with increasing responsibilities in regulatory, quality and clinical affairs in medical device companies, obtaining and maintaining regulatory clearances and approvals of implantable and diagnostic devices. 
Rani Shoham

Rani Shoham - COO

Prior to joining BioControl Medical, Mr. Shoham was employed at InSightec, a medical device company. He initially served as its Software R&D Manager and then as the VP Operations & Quality. He was responsible for supply, production, service, information systems, engineering and quality system. Mr. Shoham built the operations department from scratch, managing a team of 35 employees, and successfully met company goals and regulatory requirements. Before joining the medical device industry he spent 15 years managing R&D of multidisciplinary systems in the defense industry. Mr. Shoham received Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Physics from the Tel Aviv University.
Tsachi Czaczkes

Tsachi Czaczkes - VP Operations

 Prior Joining  BioControl Medical, Mr. Czaczkes served as a Technical Manager in  the industry for more than 9 years. Throughout his professional career, Mr. Czaczkes developed and transferred to mass manufacturing a wide variety of medical devices. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in 1992 and MBA from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside in 1999

Offer Erlichman

Offer Erlichman - VP Finance

Mr. Erlichman joined BioControl Medical in 2002 as Director of Finance and became the company's Vice President of Finance in 2006. Prior to joining BioControl Medical, Mr. Erlichman served as Director of Finance and Operations in a privately-held company. Mr. Erlichman also held a position of Controller in the Israeli Tax Authority. Mr. Erlichman is a certified public accountant, with a Bachelor of Business degree specializing in accounting from The College of Management Academic Studies.
